PMI Agile Launches at Agile2009

That’s me and Ron Jeffries at the Agile2005 conference, at the Ice Breaker event. There is nothing quite like wearing a balloon hat to truly break the ice between strangers. It was near-impossible to have a serious conversation, however, which was actually a nice change from some traditional conferences I’d been to in the past. But it was fine—after all, we had days of presentations, tutorials, workshops, etc. to follow, and plenty of time to get serious then.

Agile2009 is next week in Chicago, and I’m looking forward to it. For those of you who haven’t been before, you are in for a treat! In fact, the biggest complaint I expect you’ll have is that the program is so chock full of goodness that you found yourself wishing for Hermione Granger’s time-turner device, so that you could be in more than one place at the same time.

This year is particularly special to me, as it marks the launch of the new PMI Agile Community of Practice. We’re a group of PMI-friendly people who want to help PMI members in their understanding of agile principles and practices. You’ll be able to spot us from our buttons and shirts (no PMI Agile balloon hats, sorry). To learn more about our sessions at the conference, and how to register to attend the launch event with guest speaker Martin Fowler on Tuesday evening, visit our wiki home page: http://agile-pm.pbworks.com/

See you there!
